The Middle East:
*A 'bookstore' is usually a stationary shop – do not be fooled!
Syria:
* Syria's public transpot is great – regular, cheap, easy to use… you don't need a car. In fact, you miss out on a chunk of life if you use one.
Jordan:
*If you have the means, rent a car in Jordan – it's cheaper and easier than taking your own – if you have to rely on public transport, you can't get to much of the country.
*Aqaba is always busy – book accommodation ahead of arrival!
